Step 1: Clearly Define Your Specifications Before Requesting Samples

The most common mistake made by Amazon sellers when ordering OEM pillows is to not specify the product specifications adequately and to overly rely on samples to expose problems. Samples allow you to see the appearance and feel of the product on the first day, but they cannot demonstrate the performance of the product's filling after three months of use, whether the zipper can withstand forty washing cycles, or whether the inner lining is tight enough to prevent foam particles from migrating.

Before submitting a request for quotation (RFQ) to us, please first determine the following:

• Foam Density: This is the most important specification parameter for shredded foam pillows and is often overlooked in the buyer's requirements document. High-density foam can maintain its loftiness for a longer time and compress more slowly during use. We record the foam density for each SKU and maintain consistency across all production batches - and not just rely on samples. Please confirm this in writing with any factory you contact.
• Fabric Material: We have various color options for fabrics available for selection. Your choice should be based on the brand story and target retail price.
• Fill Weight Tolerance: The fluffiness and texture of the granular foam pillow are directly dependent on the amount of filling inside. Before placing an order, please be sure to confirm the specific tolerance range with the manufacturer.
• Packaging Options: For Amazon FBA, there are two choices: rolled packaging (a vacuum-sealed cylindrical container that can reduce the shipping volume by approximately 40%) and flat retail boxes (better suited for shelf display in physical retail stores). Most buyers targeting Amazon will choose the rolled packaging as it can save shipping costs and provide a more convenient unpacking experience.

Step 2: Certifications That Matter for the U.S. Market

When Amazon conducts the review of product listings, it is gradually increasing the requirements for certification documents. Preparing the relevant documents before listing the product is more efficient and less stressful than obtaining them only after the listing process.

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification is applicable to fabrics, confirming that both the outer and inner lining materials are free of harmful substances. Our standard outer fabric has obtained the OEKO-TEX certification. If your purchasing team or Amazon compliance review requires this certification, we can provide it.

We also hold BSCI factory audit reports, and these information can be shared as part of the supplier file package.

Step 3: Accurately Evaluate the Sample

When the sample arrives, do not judge it merely by your intuition. Please conduct three tests:

1. The Rebound Test: Compress the pillow completely with your hands and then release it. It should return to its original fluffy state within a few seconds. If the rebound is slow, it indicates that the foam density is low, and it will be prone to collapse during actual use.
2. The Fill Distribution Test: Remove about a quarter of the filling through the inner lining zipper and redistribute the remaining part. The filling should be spread out relatively evenly without any lumps. If there are lumps or gaps, you need to adjust the filling material.
3. The Wash Test: Wash the outer cover with standard warm water once, dry it after washing and check it. Pay attention to observing whether there are hair balls, whether the zipper is functioning properly, and any size changes. Once hair balls or significant shrinking occur, complaints will arise before the pillow itself is worn out.
